General Information

ØParent Teacher Student Conferences (Week 9 Term 1)
ØAcademic Reports (Term 2 and Term 4)
ØStudent banking day is a Tuesday
Routines/Expectations
Mornings/afternoons:
Day starts 8.35 am, if your child is late they must go through the office and collect a late slip
Correct school uniform
(checked day uniform, sports uniform on Music and PE days)
Absences:  Please use the Parent Portal or contact the office if your child is away.

Homework in Year 4
Due every Monday or Friday (speak to your child) in the homework pouch
Differentiated spelling tasks
Practice of Mathematical facts (times tables)
Neat and tidy setting out
Reading is an expectation to be done with your child each night
Friendships
School based friendship issues:
Using our school values we try hard to help resolve these issues
We also work with parents if there are ongoing challenges
Literacy in Year 4 classrooms
We participate in focus tasks during Reading Blocks everyday which include guided reading and also instructional reading with groups.
We have a Learning Engagement Teacher that visits our classrooms working towards a particular curriculum focus.
We encourage you to read with your child every night using some strategies that help unpack the hidden messages in the story.
Numeracy in Year 4 classrooms
We have a Learning Engagement Teacher that visit our classrooms and will work toward particular numeracy topics.
Please encourage your children to practice their counting and their times tables which are found in their homework.
